I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend! I stayed busy reading, weaving and spinning yarn...and spinning more yarn. Spinning is the most time consuming part of making my bags, I'm trying to figure out a more efficient way to do it. I'm using a drop spindle right now, I'm thinking of making a pedal powered spinning wheel...I'll let you know how that goes...
In the mean time, I need to take breaks because my arms and fingers get tired of spinning. Between reading blogs and articles online, I decided to make a couple flowers out of the same junk mail paper I've been weaving with.
I've always loved making things out of paper and used to make paper flowers as a kid and gave them as gifts to my family. I'm not sure how I feel about being able to see the advertisements for apples and steak in the petals, but I think they turned out nicely. Maybe I can figure out a way to sell these as something too.
