Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days, I've actually been doing a little work so my blogging and crafting time has been compromised this week. I got back into the swing after work last night and now the dining table is covered in fabric and things. I'll be posting that stuff this weekend some time but for today here is a little paper chain tutorial.
This is not the paper chain you made in elementary school, the series of rings made of construction paper. Although I love those, this is a more sophisticated version. Here, I of course, used junkmail.
Made of a series of "8" or pinched circle shapes, open in the middle and folded in half, you link them together as shown below.
I love how elegant this chain looks when finished. I want to experiment with changing the size, maybe a giant chain or maybe try using fabric and creating necklaces with the chains. Oh, the possibilities!
I hope you try this project, it is so simple and all you need is some paper and a pair of scissors! These chains would be a great addition to a Christmas tree come December!
